Kodiak
Meet Kodiak š¤
Kodiak has been with Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue for several months now, and his journey is nothing short of inspiring. When he came to us, he had a previous injury to his hind leg that ultimately required amputation. On March 12, 2026, Kodiak officially became a proud tripodāand he hasnāt looked back since.
This sweet boy is absolutely thriving. Losing his leg hasnāt slowed him down one bitāin fact, itās like the weight of that injury has been lifted, and Kodiak is finally free to just be a dog. Heās adjusting to life on three legs better than we ever could have imagined, getting around with confidence, resilience, and a whole lot of heart.
Kodiak may be a little smaller than your typical Great Pyrenees (around 65ā70 pounds), but what he lacks in size, he more than makes up for in personality. He is incredibly gentle, loving, and easygoing. Kodiak gets along beautifully with everyone he meetsādogs, cats, and even livestock like chickens and goats. He truly is everyoneās friend.
All Kodiak wants is a family to call his own. A place where he can continue to blossom, share his sweet nature, and prove every day that being different doesnāt make him any less amazingāit makes him unforgettable.
If youāre looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold, Kodiak is your guy. š¾
