💙 Meet Monte Montgomery — A Gentle Soul Looking for His Next Chapter 💙
Monte Montgomery has quite a story to tell.
Back in 2017, in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Monte was found wandering the streets of Houston as a stray. His life had been turned upside down, but he found his way to TGPR — and eventually to a wonderful forever home.
For nearly nine years, Monte knew what it meant to be loved and to belong. Sadly, his beloved owner recently passed away, and with no family member able to take him in, Monte is coming home to TGPR at 10 years old. 💔
Once again, through absolutely no fault of his own, this sweet senior boy is facing a major change in his life.
But Monte has so much love left to give.
He is a sweet, gentle old man who is wonderful with people and does well with kids, other dogs and even cats. At this stage of life, Monte isn't asking for grand adventures. He's looking for the simple things — a comfortable bed, a peaceful home, someone to love and a spot beside you while you watch TV.
Basically, Monte is applying for the position of Professional Lounge Partner. ❤️
He's already weathered one historic storm in his lifetime. Now he's weathering a very different kind of storm — the loss of the person and home he knew for so many years.
We would love nothing more than for Monte's return to TGPR to be a short stop on his journey.
At 10 years old, this wonderful boy deserves to spend his golden years knowing the security of home again. He doesn't need someone to give him his whole life.
He just needs someone willing to give him the rest of his. 💙🐾
