When Alfie arrived at TGPR, we knew he needed help—but we had no idea just how much.
His coat was so severely matted that the only option was to shave him. What was hiding underneath was heartbreaking. Alfie is painfully underweight, with sores on the backs of his legs and a body that tells the story of far too much neglect.
Despite everything he's endured, Alfie's spirit remains remarkably intact.
This sweet, gentle giant wants nothing more than to be close to his people. He's a total Velcro dog who follows you from room to room, soaking up every bit of love and kindness he can find. His trust, despite everything he's been through, is nothing short of amazing.
Now the healing begins. With nutritious meals, medical care, lots of rest, and plenty of affection, Alfie is finally getting the chance he's always deserved. We know this handsome boy has an incredible transformation ahead of him, and we can't wait to watch him regain his strength, his fluffy coat, and the sparkle in his eyes.
