What is the calendar contest?
It's our biggest fundraiser of the year! The contest determines which photos will be in our annual calendar featuring Great Pyrenees, Pyr mixes, and LGD working dogs. Supporters enter photos, vote, reserve special dates, and help raise critical funds for rescue.
Who can enter the contest?
Residents of the United States and Canada may enter.
How much does it cost to enter?
Contest entries are $30 per dog/photo, and entry comes with 5 free votes!
What kind of photo should I submit?
Please submit one color, high-quality digital photo of a Great Pyrenees, Pyr mix, or LGD working dog with the animals they protect. Most phone photos work great if you upload the original photo file in its full size. Avoid screenshots, social media downloads, cropped images, or photos saved from text messages, since those may not print clearly in the calendar. Ideal photo size for best print quality is 3000 x 3900px, this said we'll accept most images 1250 x 1625px or higher.
Can people be in contest photos?
No. Contest photos may not include people of any age, including adults, teens, children, or infants.
Can I enter more than one dog?
Yes. You may submit one entry per Great Pyrenees or Pyr mix.
How does voting work?
Each dollar donated equals one vote. You can vote as many times as you'd like.
Do votes include a calendar?
No. Voting supports the fundraiser but does not include a calendar. Calendars must be ordered separately.
Will every dog be in the calendar?
The winners will receive featured spots, and all other eligible entries will be included in the calendar collage pages.
What are day blocks?
Day blocks let you place a photo on a specific date in the calendar. These can include pets, people, landscapes, or special memories.
Can businesses sponsor a day block?
Yes. Business day blocks are available for $50 and include a business logo on a selected calendar date.
Can my business sponsor the calendar?
Yes! We offer several calendar sponsorship options for businesses that want to support TGPR and be featured in the 2027 Calendar. Sponsorships may include logo placement, calendar copies, and other recognition depending on the level selected. Please visit our Sponsorships page for full details.
Can I honor a pet who has passed away?
Yes. Rainbow Bridge Memorials are available for $50 and include a photo with a short tribute.
How much is a calendar?
The 2027 Calendar is $30 + shipping and includes 5 free votes.
When do calendar preorders ship?
Calendars are expected to start shipping around December 1, 2026, in the order they were placed.
Can I pick up my calendar locally?
Yes! Local pickup will be available at select TGPR in-person events in each area.
Where does the money go?
Proceeds support Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue's lifesaving work, including vet care, spay/neuter, emergency treatment, foster support, and safe placement for Pyrs in need.
