Renee is a FANTASTIC estate guardian and phenomenal dog! Protective of our chickens, loving to our cat Poppy, Princess of Plunder, and gentle with our neighbors’ children, we could not ask for a better LGD. We marvel every time we see her track an aerial predator or chase off a fox from our fence line. And being greeted by her soft expression, wagging tail, and gentle kisses every time we return home is the greatest feeling in the world! I could boast forever about her athleticism, her discernment, her ability to read and clearly communicate with different species and other dogs, including our second rescue LGD Augustine of Hippos, nicknamed Auggie. Auggie had a rough start, coming to us through a local shelter after found in a dumpster malnourished and with a broken tail! But he has blossomed under Renee’s friendship and care. In fact they hit if off right away and it was amazing to watch Renee show him the ropes. She could tell he initially could not move as fast as her or balance as well, so she’d change her play-style and speed so he could keep up and safely play together. And if he got stressed, she would nuzzle him and lick his ears and you could see his whole body relax
Thanks to TGPR, our chickens are safe, our cat loved, and John and I have the joy of watching two giant white dogs play and patrol on our property every day. What a beautiful life!
